to
1. Pasted cap onto 100x100 canvas, resized until I found a crop I liked.

2. New layer, painted in color #fad2e3, set to 24% opacity.
→
3. Copied the base layer, pasted on top, set to screen at 67%.

4. Made a Gradient Fill layer, set to Color Burn at 33%, colors fad2e3 to 91cdac.
→
5. Copied the base layer and pasted on top, Soft Light 100%. Copy+merge+pasted and sharpened to my liking. Added a Vibrancy layer, vibrancy -39.
→
→
6. Added a texture, set to Soft Light 57%.
→
7. Copy merged and sharpened, using a layer mask to remove over-sharpened areas (the black bg is just so you see the mask). Added a Vibrancy layer at +48.
→
→
8. Selective Colors layer:
REDS
cyan -18
magenta +8
yellow -26
YELLOWS
yellow +12
GREENS
yellow +18

9. Copy Merge and paste, set to Soft Light 100%.

10. Added a texture set to 51% opacity.
→
11. I dragged the copy Merge and paste layer from step 9 up over the texture. Vibrancy layer, vibrance +49.
12. The right side of the icon was a bit blown out, so I painted in some beige, blurred it to avoid sharp lines, set the layer to Multiply, opacity 11% (again, black bg just so you can see what I painted on).
→
In the end, your layers should look like this:

As you can probably tell, I usually don't know what coloring I'm going for and just stumble my way through it. There may also have been some extra sharpening on various layers, but it's been too long for me to recall.
